Platform disclaimer

We run the platform. Issuers own what they publish.

What Source Verity is responsible for, and what stays with the organizations that publish and receive records. Last updated 26 October 2026.

01

Our role: a platform, not a publisher

Source Verity provides software that lets organizations publish records (such as origin and due diligence packs, test reports, declarations, inspection records, factory visit details and other documents) and share them with people they choose.

Each publication is created, uploaded and controlled by the organization shown as its issuer. That organization owns the content and is solely responsible for it. Source Verity does not author, edit, endorse or take ownership of publications, and a record appearing on the platform is not a statement by Source Verity.

02

No verification of content

Source Verity does not independently check whether a publication is true, complete, current or lawful. Status indicators, completeness checks, maps, risk notes and similar aids are generated from the data the issuer supplied and are provided for convenience. They are not an audit, an inspection or an opinion on the underlying goods.

Words such as “verified”, “verity” and “canonical” in the product describe how records are stored and delivered (attributed to an issuer, versioned and access-controlled), not a guarantee of what they say.

03

Not a certification or conformity body

Source Verity is not a certification body, testing laboratory, notified body, inspection agency, customs broker or competent authority. It does not issue certificates, test results or declarations of conformity, and it does not grant any mark or approval. Certificates and reports shown on the platform come from the issuer or the third party named on them.

04

Regulatory obligations stay with you

Source Verity can help organize evidence and prepare structured data for obligations under rules such as the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), the US Lacey Act, CARB Phase 2 / TSCA Title VI, EN 13986, REACH and the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). It does not submit due diligence statements, declarations or filings on anyone’s behalf, and it does not act as an operator, trader, importer, authorized representative or responsible person under any of them.

Each operator, importer and recipient remains responsible for its own due diligence, risk assessment, filings and decisions. Using the platform does not by itself make any product, shipment or organization compliant.

05

Not legal or professional advice

Regulatory descriptions, timelines, countdowns, guides and checklists on this site are general information. They may not reflect the latest changes, delegated acts or guidance, and they do not account for your circumstances. They are not legal, regulatory, customs, tax or technical advice. Confirm your obligations with qualified advisers and the competent authorities.

06

Third-party data and services

Some features show data from third parties, such as maps, satellite and land-cover layers, deforestation datasets, geocoding, email delivery and app stores. That data is provided as received, may contain errors or gaps, and is governed by its providers’ terms. Source Verity is not responsible for third-party data or services.

07

For recipients

Treat a publication as information supplied by its issuer. Make your own assessment before relying on it in a commercial, regulatory or legal decision. Questions about a document, or a request to correct or remove it, should go to the issuer. If you believe content is unlawful, tell us and we will pass the report to the issuer and may restrict access while it is reviewed.

Once you download a file, the copy on your device is outside the platform’s access controls. Revoking access stops future views on Source Verity; it cannot recall copies already downloaded or forwarded.

08

For issuers

By publishing, you confirm that you have the right to share the content with the recipients you choose, that it does not infringe anyone’s rights, and that sharing it complies with the law that applies to you, including data protection and export rules. You decide who receives access and for how long, and you are responsible for keeping publications accurate and current.

09

What we are responsible for

Source Verity is responsible for the technical operation of the platform: storing publications as uploaded, applying the access settings the issuer chose, delivering links and notifications, keeping the access record, and protecting the service with reasonable security measures.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep it reliable but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we may change or suspend features. Keep your own copies of records you are required to retain.

10

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Source Verity is not liable for loss or damage arising from the content of publications, from reliance on them, from third-party data or services, or from regulatory, commercial or legal decisions made using the platform. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the technical operation of the platform. Nothing in this disclaimer limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Where you have a signed agreement with Source Verity, that agreement takes precedence over this page.
